About the designer and the jewelry
About Nurit Niskala-Designer
My creations are inspired by my heritage. I learned much of my early jewelry making techniques from my father, who made Jewelry in an old fashion way, combining elements and raw materials from the earth. In my studio I use low-tech tools and my hands, utilizing the traditional fabrication techniques of sawing, forging, forming, soldering and polishing to transform the materials into a finished piece. I also like to combine natural genuine stones.
After NDE (Near Dead Experience) I started working professionally in the jewelry business around three decades ago, but have always been exposed to the art to wear of making a piece of jewelry. My jewelry is handcrafted one piece at a time or in limited series, no two are exactly alike.
